What is the purpose of this study?
The purpose of this study is to compare the stress responses of those who use and those who do not use cannabidiol (CBD).
How often are clinic visits?
This study involves one in-person visit that will last about 2 hours and 40 minutes.
What will I be doing in the study?
For this study you will be asked to complete multiple questionnaires regarding your health history, mood, CBD use and other substance use, life stress, and personal habits and characteristics.
Measurements of your height, weight, heart rate, and blood pressure will be taken along with several saliva samples. In addition, you will also be asked to watch neutral documentaries and to complete simple stress tasks.
Will I be compensated?
Compensation will be shared with participants if deemed eligible to participate.

What is the purpose of the study?
The purpose of this research is to understand how smokers’ responses to naltrexone and stress relate to smoking, smoking cessation, and relapse.
How often are the clinic visits?
If you are a smoker, we expect that you will be in this research study for a total of up to around 15.5-17.5 hours over the course of about 4 months or less, though it is possible that the researcher will ask you to schedule follow-up visits over the course of approximately 1 year. This research includes a brief daily diary (~1 minute daily) in addition to up to 7 in-person meetings: 1 medical screening meeting (~3 hrs total); 2 pre-performance meetings (~1 hr each); 2 performance sessions (~4 hrs each); and 2 follow-up meetings (~1 hr each).
If you are a non-smoker, we expect that you will be in this research study for a total of up to around 13-15 hours over the course of about 1-2 months. This research includes a brief daily diary (~1 minute daily) in addition to up to 5 meetings: 1 medical screening meeting (~3 hrs total); 2 pre-performance meetings (~1 hr each); and 2 performance sessions (~4 hrs each).
What will I be doing in the study?
In addition to the activities listed above:
smokers will be required to quit smoking 15 hours prior to each performance session
all participants will take naltrexone or placebo during each performance session
smokers will complete 4 smoking cessation counseling sessions
non-smokers will complete 2 behavior change counseling session
